My name is Saif Samir. I've been recognized as a blogger in Bangladesh for so many years.
In 2004, on Blogspot, I first began my blogging in English. I started writing blog posts in Bangla on Somewhereinblog back in 2007.
If you're curious about who started Bangla blogging for the first time, and how it got started, then read the following excerpt from Debashish Chakrabarty's blog post "Ethnic blogging and Bangla", written on 7 April 2004.
"While I Googled for regional blogs I could not find a single one in my mother-tongue Bangla (or Bengali). Thankfully Sukanya di [Sukanya Chakrabarty] was keen enough to start one and thus began the first Bangla Blog [2 April 2004]. this blog is actually a “Baby-step guide” on how to start a Bangla blog of your own. Meanwhile, Sukanya di has started a blog of her own [ShonarBanglaBlog] and with two of a tribe it was probably reason enough to go for a Bangla Blog directory. Hope other Bangalis follow suit."
Guess what, right now you are on the above-mentioned ShonarBanglaBlog of Sukanya! Which I acquired in 2013 after she abandoned it for some unknown reason.
Since then I'm curating this blog as a homage to the history of Bangla blogging. After all, this is the second Bangla blog and the first personal Bangla blog of the first Bangla blogger! As one of the forerunner bloggers, I'm proud to take care of this for the upcoming generations.
